It will be a few more years before I can make this trip myself. Until that time I am living vicariously through the Internet and enjoy remotely seeing the places I shall someday hope to visit. This is the fictional account of my imagined journey. I'll be gathering information from all across the net to make this a resource for myself for stops and interesting things to do on the Greatest Loop in the World. I have generated 111 routes around the entire loop in OPENCPN starting in Miami, FL and ending by crossing the Lake Okeechobee waterways to return to the Eastern side of Florida.

Each leg is planned out with various stops and almost always ending near a marina. These individual legs are then copied as a KML file which is inserted into Google Earth. It is then possible to do a fly along of the leg. With 3D enabled and flying about 100mph 25 feet off the elevation, it simulates a trip down the waterways. About 15 minutes for each flight which covers an average of 40-50 nautical miles. Additionally, I then write a fictitious account of my travels that day which lends to my imaginary enjoyment.
